DESCRIPTION:Alok Vaid-Menon (they/them) is an internationally acclaimed performance artist whose work explores themes of trauma\, belonging\, and the human condition. In 2021 they headlined the New York Comedy Festival and in 2022 they will be headlining the Just for Laughs Festival in Vancouver. They are the author of “Beyond the Gender Binary” (2020) which has been described as a “clarion call for a new approach to gender in the 21st century” and the poetry books “Femme in Public” (2017) and “Your Wound / My Garden” (2021). On screen\, they will next shoot the Netflix/Blumhouse feature film ABSOLUTE DOMINION. They have also appeared in the Netflix docu-series Getting Curious with Jonathan Van Ness\, HBO’s late-night sketch series Random Acts of Flyness and the documentary “The Trans List”.

DESCRIPTION:Join us at the First Unitarian Society of Minneapolis for a screening of “Bob’s Choice\,” an independent documentary featuring Bob Fuller\, an LGBTQ activist and founding member of the Seattle Men’s Chorus living with terminal cancer. In 2017\, Bob opted to use Washington’s Death with Dignity law and invited filmmakers to document his final days as he celebrated a life well lived. \nA panel\, including Minnesota State Sen. Scott Dibble\, Rev. Dr. David Breeden\, senior minister at First Unitarian Society\, and advocate Carrie Framsted whose wife\, Monica\, died without the option of a peaceful death\, will discuss the End-of-Life Option Act and why this bill is important to Minnesotans. This event will be both in-person and live streamed.

DESCRIPTION:PLEASE READ ALL THE WAY TO THE END… \nThis is an all inclusive\, family friendly event geared towards all ages. Everyone is responsible for their own safety & parents are solely responsible for the safety of their children. That being said I’ve had many people join me on the water over the yrs including younger children & even adults that can’t swim\, all have successfully survived the adventure & had a blast doing it. =) No kayaking experience necessary for this lil adventure\, you just need a desire to have fun on the water. \nWe will be launching from Interstate Park & paddling to Osceola Landing. This is typically a 3 – 4 hr paddle/float. \nFor those wanting to carpool we will meet behind Newman’s Bar in N St Paul at 9am & depart promptly at 9:30. \nhttp://www.neumannsbar.com/ \nStragglers are on your own so set your alarms & be on time. We will arrive at Interstate Park at 10:30 & paddles wet at 11am. Note… There is a fee if you do not have a state park permit. Motorcycles are also welcome to join\, Taylor’s Falls is a fun lil jaunt on 2 wheels. \nFor those needing to rent a kayak I highly recommend that you book in advance… \nCanoe & Kayak Rentals \n \nFor those bringing your own kayak please post a comment & we can coordinate transport with others who have room\, my trk is already fully loaded. I will have a vehicle at Osceola Landing to help transport people with their own boats back to Interstate Park. Masks are a necessity for sharing my shuttle! \nPlease bring a sandwich or snacks & plenty of water to stay hydrated. SMALL COOLERS ONLY. There are typically several awesome sand bars to stop & mingle\, this totally depends on the water level tho. I DO NOT encourage bringing alcoholic beverages on the water\, but I’m not your momma either. Please\, please be responsible with your drinking as I do not want to do any water rescues. \nInvite your friends\, family\, neighbors\, & bring your pup along if they kayak with you as well. Let’s make some awesome memories together. =) \nNOTE… I set the time as 9am – 4pm so you can plan from the time you leave the cities until you get back to the cities. DESCRIPTION:The Minnesota Lavender Bar Association (MLBA) is an association of Lesbian\, Gay\, Bisexual\, Trans\, Queer\, plus (LGBTQ+) Law Students and Legal Professionals of Minnesota. \nJoin MLBA for our annual Pride Happy Hour. We will be celebrating outside on the terrace patio of The Hennepin. If the weather gets bad we will move the celebration inside at the same location. Two drinks and heavy appetizers will be hosted. Non-MLBA members are welcome to attend\, but please be sure to RSVP in advance! \nWe can’t wait to celebrate Pride with you! As with our other recent events\, we want everyone to enjoy themselves and feel safe. For that reason\, we ask that all attendees follow Minnesota Department of Health guidance about mask wearing. We cannot guarantee that social distancing will be possible depending on the amount of people who register and attend. Any public location where people are present provides an inherent risk of exposure to SARS-CoV-2\, the virus that causes COVID-19.
