SUMMARY:Buyer & Cellar
DESCRIPTION:Descend into “Buyer & Cellar\,” the deliciously outrageous comedy examining the price of fame\, and the cost of life and work relationships both on and off the red carpet. \nAs an out of work L.A. actor dives into a mysterious job at the home of legendary Barbra Streisand\, he falls deep into exploring how the other half lives\, and whether the life we aspire to might not be all it’s cracked up to be. According to the NY Times\, the show ‘is seriously funny’ as it examines ‘the love-hate attraction between gay men and divas\, and the melancholy that lurks beneath narcissism.’ Witty and dripping in comedy\, this one-man show is not to be missed!

SUMMARY:Pride Paddle
DESCRIPTION:PLEASE READ ALL THE WAY TO THE END… \nThis is an all inclusive\, family friendly event geared towards all ages. Everyone is responsible for their own safety & parents are solely responsible for the safety of their children. That being said I’ve had many people join me on the water over the yrs including younger children & even adults that can’t swim\, all have successfully survived the adventure & had a blast doing it. =) No kayaking experience necessary for this lil adventure\, you just need a desire to have fun on the water. \nWe will be launching from Interstate Park & paddling to Osceola Landing. This is typically a 3 – 4 hr paddle/float. \nFor those wanting to carpool we will meet behind Newman’s Bar in N St Paul at 9am & depart promptly at 9:30. \nhttp://www.neumannsbar.com/ \nStragglers are on your own so set your alarms & be on time. We will arrive at Interstate Park at 10:30 & paddles wet at 11am. Note… There is a fee if you do not have a state park permit. Motorcycles are also welcome to join\, Taylor’s Falls is a fun lil jaunt on 2 wheels. \nFor those needing to rent a kayak I highly recommend that you book in advance… \nCanoe & Kayak Rentals \n \nFor those bringing your own kayak please post a comment & we can coordinate transport with others who have room\, my trk is already fully loaded. I will have a vehicle at Osceola Landing to help transport people with their own boats back to Interstate Park. \nPlease bring a sandwich or snacks & plenty of water to stay hydrated. SMALL COOLERS ONLY. There are typically several awesome sand bars to stop & mingle\, this totally depends on the water level tho. I DO NOT encourage bringing alcoholic beverages on the water\, but I’m not your momma either. Please\, please be responsible with your drinking as I do not want to do any water rescues. \nInvite your friends\, family\, neighbors\, & bring your pup along if they kayak with you as well. Let’s make some awesome memories together. =) \n\n\nNOTE… I set the time as 9am – 5pm so you can plan from the time you leave the cities until you get back to the cities. We’re only on the water for about 4 hrs. 🌞

SUMMARY:An Oral History of Minneapolis Queer Nightlife
DESCRIPTION:Join the Walker Art Center for a free talk as part of the Nightlife as Form series!\nAn Oral History of Minneapolis Queer Nightlife\nMuch of the history of queer nightlife remains unwritten. Historically\, this heritage has been passed on through stories\, memories\, and the experience of being there. Seeking to document a small portion of the Twin Cities’ vast queer history\, the second installment of the series Nightlife as Form\, An Oral History of Minneapolis Queer Nightlife\, gathers several generations of local queer nightlife practitioners to share their inspirations\, challenges\, and learnings. From the 1990s Homocore movement to trans and queer punk spaces\, as well as today’s nightlife practitioners\, this evening celebrates and makes visible some of these too-often unwritten histories. \nFollowing the panel\, join us for a drink in the Main Lobby to celebrate local queer nightlife artists. \nPanelists include Shannon Blowtorch\, Siren DeLuna (Sci-Fi)\, Venus de Mars\, All the Pretty Horses\, and Ed Varga (Homocore Minneapolis and Homo A Go Go). \n\nMore on the Walker’s website here:\nhttps://walkerart.org/calendar/2024/an-oral-history-of-minneapolis-queer-nightlife
