Which LGBTQ+ icon would you dress as? Get as bold as you dare and embody them. Your name tag will leave a space for your name and pronouns\, and your icon’s name. Enjoy brunch food that includes vegan\, gluten free\, and nut- and dairy-free brunch options\, plus non-alcoholic drinks (a mocktail bar!) and of course\, plenty of coffee- a must for brunch!! Bring dollars for the performers and for the nourishing work of Telling Queer History\, which connects LGBTQ+ people across generations and identities through storytelling to foster compassion\, empathy and healing. Oh yes: there will be time to meet people\, dance\, gaze shyly from across the room. There will be an auction full of fab experiences and items. There will also be a sensory-friendly quiet space. As always with TQH\, this event will be ASL interpreted and substance-free. This event is open to all ages. DESCRIPTION:In 1990s Manhattan\, a dynamic drag queen duo\, Brenda Sexual and Glennda Orgasm\, produced and cohosted a popular underground public access cable series The Brenda and Glennda Show. Taking drag out of the nightclubs and into the streets\, their show boldly mixed political activism with humor\, art\, and visibility. In 1993\, the show became Glennda and Friends\, hosted by Glenn Belverio\, who expanded the “post-queer” talk show format to feature provocative costars such as queer filmmaker Bruce LaBruce\, transgressive author Bruce Benderson\, performance artist Vaginal Davis\, and guerrilla scholar Camille Paglia. Shay\, will keep us rockin’ from 7-10!\n\nClean out your closets and bring clothes\, books\, plants\, jewelry\, etc. for our give-and-take sharing table. What you are ready to give away becomes what another woman receives. Here are some ideas: LGBTQ related or other books\, household decor\, house plants\, seeds\, jewelry\, clothes and shoes in decent condition.\n\nSelf employed women\, bring your business cards for the community resources table. If you volunteer with an LGBTQ non-profit\, bring a flyer for the table to promote LGBTQ community events.  Help spread the word about our community resources!\n\nTreat yourself to a chair massage by Jody! You can pay her directly for the amount of time that you want. Keep it to about 10-15 minutes so more women get a turn!\n\nThere’s a $10 cash cover at the door. DESCRIPTION:Together is a mixed media art exhibition featuring artwork from ten Minnesota artist families of diverse ages and family structures who have created individual and communal work for the exhibition.
