We Help Us: Intergenerational Queer & Trans Mutual Aid Storytelling

Join the Institute for Sexual and Gender Health 2SLGBTQIA+ Intergenerational Mingle and the We Help Us hotline for an afternoon of intergenerational storytelling, community, mutual aid, and oral history, where we will explore how and why members of our communities have taken care of one another over the years when institutions have failed to do so.

This event will feature an intergenerational panel of queer and trans storytellers sharing their mutual aid experiences, followed by breakout discussions, a harm reduction mutual aid activity with the Aliveness Project, and free food and drink.

Participants will also have a chance to document their stories of queer and trans mutual aid for the We Help Us project, which will be archived at the Jean-Nickolaus Tretter Collection, the largest archival repository of LGBTQ history in the Midwest.
